Relax, Anthem will get a plethora of content in the upcoming months.

A lot of you are e-mailing me pleading for information. Since BioWare is giving you nothing with their stupid communications embargo, I will provide.

As I previously said, EA and BioWare are not giving up on Anthem. Not yet at least. These guys brought SWTOR back from the brink of extinction, and they may do it for Anthem as well. EA is very confident in BioWare's ability to fix the game.

Other than some utterly stupid leadership decisions on BioWare's end, things are progressing.

Right now (no, really literally right now, simultaneously in crunch mode) they are working on the following:

- Bug fixes
- QoL improvements
(A patch with both bug fixes and QoL improvements is ready but is being held back to allow for at least some new content).
- Multiple new strongholds
- A stat screen
- Cataclysm
- Mastery System replacement (I am told it may or not be called the Mastery System)
- Guilds
- Leaderboards
- New story
- New lore
- New Freeplay content
- New missions
- New challenges
- New enemies
- New loot system
- Balance changes
- Yes, new Javelin ideas are being tossed around. The team is NOT yet working on new Javelins.
- A pilot level increase is being discussed

Probably more that I am forgetting.

To be fair, a lot of the items were already at least partially completed, but better late than never.

As you can see, this is stretching them fairly thin. To the point where multiple low level employees told me they wish they could focus on just one or two things.

The next few months will be pretty interesting for the game. Where it goes from there, is anyone's guess.

Side note: Yes, the BioWare and EA are aware there are things that won't be met on the current May road map (all of them), however management decided to keep this page as is instead of updating it.

    1. You are welcome, and thank you for not writing me a nasty e-mail or blog post (that I would delete) calling me every kind of name imaginable (and wishing for my painful death) for simply writing down what I hear.

  2. A stat screen.....seriously?! HOW WAS THIS NOT IN AT RELEASE!?

    1. They had one almost ready for launch, but it would showcase that a lot of the stats did not actually do what they were supposed to, so it was delayed until after this was fixed.

  3. Did Bioware have a testers or QA? I mean... seriously? Every patch feel like they don't test before. The patch contain with a lot of bugs. that why it drive many player go crazy.

    1. BioWare has a lot of talented and passionate staff. It is mostly the leadership that has incredibly skewed values and priorities.

Just listen to this guy describe some $20 cosmetics as "one of the most generous offerings in video-game history".

    1. So no chance of a patch this month?

      No chance of cataclysm?

Will this be one patch or a few?

    2. As I said, a patch is ready. It may have even been submitted and may hit this month. Possibly tomorrow? The day after?

Mostly bug fixes, QoL, balance changes. They held off on releasing it due to lack of content. If released this month, expect very little content. Maybe a few missions? Freeplay events?

No, 0 chance of Cataclysm this month.

Oh, most definitely be quite a few patches.

  5. Wow you called it. Sorta. You said it's coming tomorrow or Friday lol.

Anyway, a patch launched a few hours after you posted and it was pretty much bug fixes, qol, and some throwaway content.

Can you please tell us if PTS will be PC only?
Also please tell us about loot 2.0. I don't want to bother playing until we have an actually rewarding loot system.

    Please and thank you.

    1. They were waiting on a console version of the patch to get approved. I am not sure if Microsoft or Sony was the culprit here. As I said in an earlier post, it was ready but not submitted on time.

I was actually going to write another post tomorrow saying that a patch is coming this Friday... But they just pushed it out the door today.
Good for them. This was the correct decision. Sitting on it for such a long time was a mistake in the first place, since the little snippets of new content are hardly worth it.

Yes, PTS for console will come. I am not sure if it will be PS4 only or not. The game has the least players on the Xbox platform and the PS4 is the lead console.

As for a Loot 2.0 type update, that is hard to say. I can tell you they are working on it and that it is high on their priorities list. Having said that, right now it's all hands on Cataclysm. Sadly, it doesn't actually look like Cataclysm will land next month. If it does, it will be late in the month, and possibly in parts.
